Rupert Cryer5 StarPlus Rooms delivered on our loft room building project - both in terms of the end result and the process to get there.
Planning: They suggested well-designed, practical, space-efficient ideas as we planned the build. As the project took shape, they delivered on what they said they would.
Build: The work ran to time and when things cropped up (as they do in old London houses), they proactively sorted them out efficiently, openly and to a high standard to keep the work on track.
Result: The finished product is exactly what we envisaged. Plus Rooms were helpful and professional throughout and overall the process was remarkably painless.
We are delighted with the result.Wednesday 1st May 2024
Kiran Grigg5 StarOur experience with Plus Rooms was very positive. The whole process from initial consultation to finished project was smooth and professionally managed and the quality of the build was excellent - even our kitchen company commented on it! All the teams worked incredibly hard and they were a pleasure to deal with. The disruption to us was minimal. The timetable for the work was clearly set out at the beginning and ran on schedule with no delays, which friends found hard to believe. With wooden windows and doors and high ceilings to match our existing period property, our project was not necessarily typical of those I had looked at online and I was very involved in making sure the details matched my own vision, but Plus Rooms were happy to work with me on this. We couldn’t be happier with our new kitchen which, if anything, has exceeded our expectations.Wednesday 28th February 2024
Andy Tyler5 StarWe are absolutely thrilled with our kitchen extension project carried out from plans, through the build, right through to decoration/finishing. The whole process was very smooth. They were very respectful and tidy throughout and we are very much enjoying making use of the new kitchen space. I’m attaching some before and after photos for comparison.
They set us up with a temporary kitchen in our rear lounge so we were able to still prepare meals and do laundry whilst the work went on. PlusRooms stuck to their delivery timescales and were very communicative throughout the process. Having one point of contact was really helpful so we didn’t have to manage every little thing with the individual tradesmen.Tuesday 12th March 2024
Tim Nicholson5 StarWe had an excellent experience with Plus Rooms and can thoroughly recommend them.
They completed a loft conversion and a side return extension in our Edwardian house in SE London. The work was completed pretty much on time and on budget. Our quote was in late 2021 and the work started in September 2022 and they honoured this despite major increases in the cost of materials, which was a testament to their realistic pricing/costing based on what suppliers had agreed for them. Any options that could potentially increase costs (such as choice of windows) were clearly explained to us and always kept as much to budget as possible. We had cheaper quotes from other companies but after reading reviews from those who’ve gone with cheaper options they normally regret this as costs spiral way beyond initial quotes or things end in tears with builders disappearing before projects completed or not returning to fix problems. It seems that realistic pricing is much better to go for than the cheapest quote ( which sounds to often end up with a more inflated final price – with a lot of stress and pain added on top)!
We felt every stage of the project felt was very well managed and we always felt reassured by, and confident in the advice given and decisions made. They dealt with difficulties in obtaining planning permission for raising the roofline of the loft space, calmly and efficiently, and complications during the build - such as managing to create a good internal space that looked good from the outside for our loft conversion, in what turned out to be a uniquely tricky shaped gable space.
Every member of the team was extremely professional, and it was a pleasure to have them all working in the house whilst we continued to live there during the build. The project manager in particular, was extremely knowledgeable, responsive and ‘can-do’, and nothing was too much trouble. He coordinated the rest of the individual teams very well, and this made the project feel efficient and well organised.
The builders were calm, efficient and skilled, and worked long hours at times, to complete the work on time. The internal finishing team were also excellent – the quality of their work was extremely high, and again, nothing was too much trouble. Our only slightly more negative experience was with the plumbers working for Plus Rooms whose prices, even for just a basic fitting out of the loft and kitchen, were nearly double the estimate given in the initial quote, so it is worth clarifying what the costs will be for what you have planned. This was in contrast to the costs for the electrics, which was almost exactly what was originally quoted.
We’re absolutely delighted with the new spaces in our home and wouldn’t hesitate in both recommending Plus Rooms to others, and in using them again ourselves.Tuesday 9th April 2024
Maia Swift5 StarWe had a great experience with Plus Rooms. Our neighbours made the planning process unexpectedly tricky, so we were really pleased to have an experienced team to help us through every hurdle. When we finally got started we couldn't have been happier with our project coordinator and the build team. We had regular meetings and updates and everything was broken down clearly so we could see what was happening and when. With two small children, we felt that everyone did their absolute best to keep disruption to a minimum and we had a great temporary kitchen complete with washing machine. The electricians and plumbers were fab too. The end of the project was delayed because of our kitchen company but Plus Rooms were patient and supportive which really helped. Overall a brilliant experience and we love, love, love our new space. It has really changed our house and we spend 98% of our time in there now!Thursday 22nd February 2024
