We used GD&B for a downstairs redesign - our first building project. Having joined up teams for the architectural drawings and the building work meant everything progressed very smoothly. The project manager, Hadi, was very supportive and had some great ideas for the space. He worked very well with the builder, Moe, and his team who were all very professional and did an excellent job.

We are extremely pleased with the work done by foreman Lucas and his team to renovate our kitchen and install a new bathroom. They have completely transformed the tricky kitchen space, and carried out the installation of our bathroom (designed by another company) to the letter. It is the first time we have had this level of building work done, and the quality of the work and attention to detail was excellent. We were not on site during the works, but the team were polite, considerate, and accomodating in every encounter I had with them. Lucas is a natural problem solver—calm, practical, and talented. I don’t think there’s anything I wouldn’t trust him with. Our project manager, Hadi, was easy to contact and responsive, arranging weekly site meetings, keeping me abreast of all developments, and suggesting potential design solutions to our problems. It's important to note that we had several problems with the initial design and quote (before we were assigned a project manager), and GDB should take these into account for future projects. Indeed, it is the quality of the finished work that has led to a five-star review. Like other clients, we were glad for the detailed breakdown of costs in the quote. However, the accuracy is somewhat misleading: nothing will ever go exactly to plan. Extra structural works alone (communicated to us months after the initial quote, survey, and floorplan were provided) added 10% to our quote and caused us to redesign the space to avoid even higher costs. While other problems the team encountered with our ridiculous house(!) could only be discovered when the work had started, I would have expected the possibility of things such as underpinning (in a Victorian house that already had a loft extension) to have been communicated to us, to ensure we had sufficient funds before excavations started. We ensured we had a 15% buffer on our funds before starting the works, but if we hadn’t, the project would have been unaffordable for us. GDB should be communicating this level of uncertainty when they provide their quote. Importantly, previous GDB clients who provided positive references for the company shared the same experience, with key items missing from their initial quote; however, they too were happy with the final quality of the work, and for this reason recommended the company to us.

Fantastic company to use for any house build project. Initial planning was smooth and transparent from the start and Hadi (Project Mgr) in particular was very supportive to me throughout on what was my first experience of a large scale building project. I would highly recommend these guys! I also have to call out Adrian the head building contractor for also supporting me expertly through the build. Both Hadi and Adrian provided good expertise and ideas along the way and helped me visualise the finished product. Fantastic team!

We worked with GD&B for our kitchen extension / downstairs reconfiguration and are so happy with the results. They did initial architecture drawings and then the build and project management. Hadi managed the project (and me) brilliantly and Lucas, Paulo and the rest of the PC2 team were great, very professional, high quality and nice to have around every day for 6 months!

We had a very good experience with GDB as our design and build partners for our recent extension and internal remodelling project. They found us excellent builders, who worked diligently and expertly to deliver the project to time, expectation and (allowing for quite a few changes and additions from us and BC) to budget. As our project manager, Nuan was always helpful, responsive and problem-solving to keep the project on track.
